Hugh will be returning to Calstock Arts, after his sold out talk in 2023, to share his thoughts on the complex issues that confront conservationists – so many decisions revolve around the choice of which animal to kill … and whether we have a right – or even responsibility – to ‘play god’.

Cull of the Wild – Killing in the Name of Conservation, is the latest book from Hugh Warwick. George Monbiot describes it as ‘Fascinating, intelligent and indispensable.’ Kate Bradbury says it is ‘the perfect introduction to the darker side of conservation which Hugh Warwick explains with reverence and humour.’ And Chris Packham, ‘Hugh Warwick employs honest and intelligent questioning in a fruitful, fascinating exploration of one of the skeletons in conservation’s cupboard.’
