A rare opportunity has arisen for a hire manager at Calstock Arts. The main goal of this role is to generate and sustain significant income through hiring out the Old Chapel, with a focus on weddings, corporate events, and private clients.

Payment: To be discussed and dependent on experience. Part time & partly commission based.

This is an exciting new role for someone with an enthusiasm for growing the Charity and identifying opportunities for generating income from hiring the venue. Responsibilities will include marketing the venue and managing relationships with customers who wish to hire the venue.
The Manager will be responsible for dealing with customer enquiries, arranging visits, organising dates and requirements and negotiating hire terms and will require close diary liaison with the Promoters. The Treasurer must be kept informed of quotes and invoices sent so that the relevant payments can be requested and acknowledged. The Manager will then be responsible for the practical arrangements for staffing the events plus setting up before and clearing up after each hire event. The Manager will be expected to be one of the Responsible Officers for Weddings and registered with Cornwall Council.
Business Development:
-Develop and implement strategies to attract wedding, corporate, and private hire clients.
-Identify and explore new revenue opportunities to maximise the venue’s income potential.
-Build and maintain relationships with local businesses, event planners, and suppliers to enhance venue promotion.
Marketing:
-Create and execute marketing campaigns to promote the Old Chapel as a unique event venue.
– Assist with the venue’s online presence, including website updates & social media
-Organise and host open days, tours, and networking events to showcase the venue.
Client Management:
-Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective clients, from initial inquiry to event completion.
-Provide tailored customer service, ensuring client needs are met and expectations exceeded.
-Draft and negotiate hire contracts, ensuring compliance with all terms and conditions.
Event Coordination:
-Oversee the planning and delivery of events, liaising with clients, vendors, and volunteers to ensure seamless execution.
-Coordinate logistics, including setup, staffing, equipment, and health and safety requirements.
Administration & Reporting:
-Maintain accurate records of all bookings, contracts, and financial transactions.
-Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including licensing, insurance, and health and safety regulations.
-Proven experience in venue management, event planning, or a similar role.
-Strong marketing and sales skills, with the ability to attract and retain clients.
-Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
-Highly organised, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
-Ability to work flexibly
-Knowledge of the local area and an interest in the arts and community events.
