About Us

Calstock Arts was established in 2010 and is a not-for-profit arts venue.

It is largely staffed by a dedicated team of volunteers. Initially set up as a Community Interest Company, we converted to Charity status in 2015.

Our programme is varied and includes folk, jazz and classical music, dance, films, talks, comedy, workshops and exhibitions.

The Old Chapel

Our home is The Old Chapel in Calstock, which has our iconic picture window that frames the beautiful view across the river Tamar to Devon and has the wow factor for anyone entering the building for the first time. We have superb natural acoustics, which are greatly appreciated by both performers and audiences. The main auditorium seats 120.

Events

We offer a variety of performances that include nationally recognised artists more often seen in much larger venues. We’re also proud of our record of showcasing local and younger performers.

Around 60-70 events are put on each year and these are split  between ticketed and free entry. Most of the free entry events are part of our Gallery Bar Special series and all we request is a donation which goes directly to the performers.

Calstock Film – C-Fylm, offers a good mix of mainstream and other less well-known films. It is run twice a month on a Thursday evening. See the events listing for the current programme.

Hire

In addition to events we also hire out our facilities for a range of uses. These include weddings (we have a civil wedding licence), receptions, parties, business hub, meetings, conferences, workshops, classes and corporate events.

The Kelly Room on the lower ground floor, below the auditorium, is a multi-purpose space with a well-equipped kitchen.

The Bar

The Gallery bar is open one hour before evening events. It provides a good range of wines, beer and soft drinks.

It is also available for weddings and parties as part of a hire package.

Booking Information

We now use ‘We Got Tickets’ as our ticket agent though some events are still with the Cornish Riviera Booking Office (CRBO).

Please use the ‘Buy Tickets’ link for each performance on our  What’s On page.

Tickets can also be purchased at the door from one hour before the event.

There is a £1 discount for advance booking, reduced prices for those under 18, and a £1 reduction for Friends of Calstock Arts.
