The Old Chapel is also used for community activities, and we have a number of regular users of the spaces at this beautiful venue. Our C-Fylm Club meets monthly in either the Main Hall or the Kelly Room depending on the time of year. The Big Jazz Choir and the Calstock Singers rehearse regularly, and a yoga class started in the summer. Details on how to get involved or contact the organisers can be found below.
If you like to run an activity at the Old Chapel, or host a meeting or other event, please get in touch and email email@example.com. Although many evenings are busy with activities, performances or other hire events, there is usually space during the day and some evenings.
Big Jazz Choir
The Big Jazz Choir meet regularly on a Wednesday evening at 7.30pm. They formed in 2013 and are currently over 30 strong.
Under the musical direction of Helen Porter, their repertoire includes much loved jazz standards and songs created and arranged especially for the choir.
The cost is £36 for a block of 6 lessons.
For more information, please contact Helen Porter via email: firstname.lastname@example.org
The Calstock Singers meet on a Monday evening at 7.30pm under the musical direction of Ann Smith. As a community choir, the Singers are drawn from a range of musical backgrounds and all who love to sing are welcome, regardless of levels of experience. We only ask for a commitment to learning and rehearsing the songs.
The weekly subscription is £5 payable at rehearsal. Music is supplied and some of it is written or arranged especially for the choir.
For more information, please contact Kathy Thomas (email@example.com).
C Fylm is Cornwall’s film club network. It supports community venues to screen a season of films for their local audience. This allows people across Cornwall the chance to watch great films in their own community, at an affordable price. The project is run in partnership with Carn to Cove.
It costs £6 annually and this includes the first film. Then all other film performances are £4.
Calstock Arts C-Fylm Club runs once a month on a Thursday. See our What’s On page for details of the next film.
Subtitles can be made available for most films if we are advised in advance. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org at least 2 working days before the film so it can be arranged.
