November 6 “Missionaries, Mercenaries and Misfits” – Travels in a Cold Heaven

This is an illustrated talk about the arctic, its people, its flora and fauna and the massive threat to its existence. The talk will shed light on what we can learn from indigenous cultures, the importance of our bonds with nature and how ‘western white colonialism has shaped our lives and, unless change happens, will continue to shape the future.

Glenn has travelled extensively through Arctic regions living with the Inuit of Northern Greenland and Arctic Canada and following in the footsteps of ‘explorers’ of the ‘heroic Age’. He conceived the ‘Arctic Voice’ project, an environmental initiative designed to link young people throughout the Arctic north with children in the U.K.Glenn has travelled extensively through Arctic regions living with the Inuit of Northern Greenland and Arctic Canada and following in the footsteps of ‘explorers’ of the ‘heroic Age’.
