8 November: Terraplanes Blues Band

Hailing from Bristol, with a sound echoing the 1960s British R’n’B bands, The Terraplanes Blues Band has been a breath of fresh air since the release of their debut EP ‘Midnight Train’ in 2020. Winning the highly prestigious ‘EMERGING BLUES ACT OF THE YEAR’ at the UK Blues Awards 2023 has cemented The Terraplanes as a real force on the British blues scene. Catch one of the country’s hottest blues bands live at Calstock Arts and make it a night to remember.

The driving force of the band comes from the chemistry between the two founding members. Nick Scrase’s authentic guitar/vocal tones and Eduardo Allen’s hi-energy harmonica skills and stage performance make for an electric live show. The duo are ably supported by Andy Hutt (drums), Craig Shaw (guitar) and Pete Tyler (Bass). In 2020, under the wing of MAS records, a scheme with patrons like Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant, the band gained mentorship and guidance in helping them achieve their goals. The Terraplanes have been on the rise ever since. The commercial success and critical acclaim of their debut album ‘Stepping Stones’ that reached #14 for ‘most played album’ on the IBBA Blues Chart for 2022 and some blistering live festival performances, saw the band gain legions of followers across the UK and around the world. Recent live radio sessions have also seen the band gain more exposure and fans of authentic blues, played with such confidence and style. Since the start of 2024, The Terraplanes have been busy playing up and down the country at some of the best blues clubs and festivals. One of their highlights so far this year was their appearance at The UK Blues, Rock & Rhythm Festival, Blackpool where they met British music royalty Robert Plant, legendary frontman of Led Zeppelin. The Terraplanes Blues Band have now firmly established their reputation as one of the UK’s most exciting blues acts.
