7 June: Craig Ogden Classical Guitar

We are delighted to welcome back Craig Ogden to Calstock Arts. A household name to listeners of Classic FM and BBC Radio 3, both critically and popularly acclaimed with a string of No.1 recordings to his name, Australian born Craig Ogden is one of the most successful classical guitarists of his generation. Craig’s relaxed style of concert presentation, the diversity of his chosen repertoire and his virtuosity have made him a firm favourite with audiences. Expect to be amazed by his incredible skills on the guitar, along with his warmth and sense of humour that charms every audience.

Craig has an international career as a soloist and chamber musician in recital, a prolific recording artist and as a concerto soloist with orchestras around the world.  Recent recordings include a solo recital disc for Chandos, Craig Ogden in Concert, a new arrangement of the Goldberg Variations by J.S. Bach with violinist David Juritz and cellist Tim Hugh for Nimbus which has over 4 million streams on Spotify, Environments II guitar concerto by Irish composer Greg Caffrey with the Ulster Orchestra and Dancing with Piazzolla with the London Tango Quintet, released in February 2024 and selected as ‘album of the week’ by BBC Radio 3. In 2025 Craig will be releasing a new recording on Chandos with the Aquarelle Guitar Quartet, of which he is now a regular member. He frequently records for film and has presented programmes for BBC Radio 3, BBC Northern Ireland, and ABC Classic FM in Australia.
