“The South West Chamber Choir, a group of around 20 singers, was formed in 1995. It has a wide-ranging repertoire of choral music, including Elizabethan madrigals, sacred music by English and continental composers from the sixteenth to the twenty-first century, romantic part songs, and works by contemporary composers. Much of the repertoire is sung unaccompanied. The choir has a busy annual programme, with a concert of sacred music in April as part of the Tavistock Festival of Music & Arts, a summer concert at venues in West Devon or East Cornwall, a concert of sacred and secular pieces in November, and ending with a Carol Concert at Buckland Abbey. In addition, the choir enjoys a weekend in July singing choral services at cathedrals and abbeys when the resident choir is on holiday.”
