24 March: Passacaglia – Music for The Royal Court of Frederick the Great

A programme of dramatic and touching music performed on flute, viola da gamba and harpsichord, including works by J S Bach, C P E Bach, King Frederick the Great and his sisters, including;

JS Bach – Movements from The Musical Offering BWV1079
CPE Bach – Variations on Les Folies d’Espagne Wq 118/9
Frederick the Great – Sonata for Flute
Wilhelmine von Bayreuth – Sonata for Flute in A minor

Passacaglia is a UK-based professional ensemble specialising in music from the Baroque era. They perform pieces by some of the greatest composers of the 18th century as well as introducing audiences to newly discovered works!
