Thursday 13 February
Screening of Wild Cornwall – Out on the Edge plus Q&A

Cornwall Wildlife Trust presents Ian McCarthy’s award-winning film, following the turning year in Cornwall – one of the most beautiful and dramatic places in Europe.

Winner of the prestigious Silver Dolphin Award at Cannes Film Festival and a Gold medal at the New York Film Festival, the film showcases Cornwall’s ‘wild heart’ – the dramatic lives of many species including breeding seabirds and peregrines on the cliffs; dolphins, seals and basking sharks in the ocean; bats and otters hunting in the streams which flow from moor to sea.

Ian McCarthy is an Emmy and BAFTA award-winning wildlife filmmaker who has been behind the lens of some of David Attenborough’s biggest landmark nature series. His personal account shows Cornwall’s wildlife as never seen before – “Cornwall with its long and rugged coast, high rocky cliffs, surf-battered beaches, sheltered inlets and tree-lined estuaries, has a unique wild beauty. This is a film about the wildlife which lives out on the edge where land, sea, and sky meet.”

The film will be followed by a Q&A with Ian.

Approx. 60 minutes running time plus Q&A.
