Saxophone Giants: A Tribute to Jazz’s Greatest Saxophonists.
Presented by Jean Toussaint Quartet
The much loved, virtuoso tenor player, Jean Toussaint, former band member of Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers with whom Toussaint toured for four years alongside the trumpeter Terence Blanchard presents Saxophone Giants. He will be joined his regular bassist Larry Bartley, one of the most sought after bass players on the London jazz scene, as well as the late, great Abram Wilson’s former band members, Reuben James – piano and Dave Hamblett – drums.
Through some of the 20th century’s most celebrated saxophonists, including Ben Webster, Dexter Gordon, Joe Henderson and John Coltrane, Loftis and Toussaint will blow you away with their clarity of tone, honesty and passion.
