Saturday 15 July:
John Etheridge and Vimala Rowe
In a 45 year career, legendary guitarist John Etheridge has played alongside some of the most famous names in C20th music including Stephane Grappelli, Nigel Kennedy, John Williams, Yehudi Menuhin and Soft Machine.
For this new project, he joins forces with sensational vocal star Vimala Rowe, now establishing herself on the London jazz scene as a remarkable live performer, with appearances at Ronnie Scott’s and the EFG London Jazz Festival. Her style has been described as a mix of ‘jazz sophistication and swing, soulful passion and a hint of Indian exoticism’ and is quite enthralling.
Together John Etheridge and Vimala Rowe weave a magical spell, effortlessly travelling musically from India to Africa, Middle East and the USA. There will also be solos from John, taken from his celebrated show that he has performed for ten years across Europe. This is a unique pairing that satisfies on so many levels. Not to be missed!
