Friday 1 November
Confessions of a Cockney Temple Dancer

Shane Shambu reveals his journey from ‘fat kid’ in the cultural melting pot of East London to international performer, in a bedazzling mix of comedy, theatre and dance. He rips up ideas of race, language and culture, and re-imagines them with gestures of hope.

From an unlikely dance student to ‘rude boy’, to marketing manager to international performer, Shane’s story is told through a fresh and captivating blend of laugh out loud comedy, impeccable characterisations and mesmerising dance.

Shane Shambu is an actor, theatre director and award-winning choreographer, He seamlessly integrates differing artistic disciplines and languages stemming from the Indian performing art of Bharatanatyam and his vast performance experience.

A very human and humorous insight into British Asian culture, with echoes of Bend It Like Beckham and top drawer Indian dancing.
